    New TaskAlfa181 with dead keyboard

I have a month old TaskAlfa 181 that has a dead keyboard. It has interrupt key , c/stop key and copy keys. All other keys have no function. The LED's are lit as they all are in normal copy mode. The printer recieves pc print jobs the fax recieves fax's.
I have fit a new keyboard with exactly the same fault condition. Still same dead keys with new keyboard installed.

Have you re-loaded the firmware? Current firmware is dated 5-18-2010. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yes I tried to do a firmware upgrade but the CF card is 2 GB and the MFD appears to get a read error . Have reformat the brand new CF card an re-copied the firmware , and again the firmware gets halfway through and returns a CF-read-error. Will try again with a smaller 1Gb card or less.

If you can get it, I'd suggest a 128MB or 256MB CF card. The smaller and slower, the better. =^..^=

            Thanks Jewen25
Will keep any eye on the component items you have suggested.....

Thanks to Blackcat also for the CF card update.

This forum software did and auto tag match in one of our posts and bought up a CF card URL for Australia . I clicked on the URL link an a purchase was done for 256 CF and 512 CF.

Jewen25 Hit the target with the Main Power Board being the keyboard fault.
I replaced the main power board and we have a working keyboard once again...

              Thanks All

hai, i also faced the same problem in TA 221, but in my case the problem was in the connector. while fixing the scaner unit, the guy who installed the machine , wrongly removed or not fixed the connector, which is near to scanner board,

after fixing it properly, its working nice,

may be u have a diffrent problem, but pls check this also,,,
                thanxs
