    CS-6030 jam 32

Have a 6030 with a PF-650 deck showing a frequent jam-32. When it does, there will be 2 sheets stuck together in the finisher with the image split between the 2, about 6 inches from the lead. Checked separation and suction fans, cleaned clutches and pullies. Still does it. Works great from drawers. We have NEVER had problems with these before, so I don't know where to start. Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

      Hi Dave10
You may have checked this but is there any indents on the lead edge of the paper?
where the paper is put in the draw roughly and sometimes you get the edges scrapped pinching the paper together. just a stab in the dark.

Well, let's start with the simple things first. How often does it actually jam? Do they throw the first and last piece of paper away, sometimes little drops of glue gets on the paper from the wrappers. Do they fan the paper before putting it in?

Have you tried rub rejuv. on the roller and separation roller?

I'd start with just following the paper and see if you can narrow down the problem spot from start to finish and see what that turns up.

Tried everything with the paper. Don't think it's the issue. Edge is not marked. It comes all the way through the machine, it just multi-feeds. Also, this is a 4000-sheet side deck. It has no rollers or separators. Thanks foer the input, though.

            PF 650 JAM32:

Section: side feeder jam code 32: Misfeed in registration. Conditions: Feed switch 1 (FSW1) does not turn on within specified time <800 ms (586 ms) for 80cpm[8030]/1029 ms (586 ms) for 60cpm> of feed switch 2 (FSW2) turning on.

Basically there's two feed switches and their timing is screwed up. Probably (just a guess here), the first page feeds and the roller catches a second sheet and they kind of take a ride together into the machine. Like a buddy system.

You need to run maintenance item U031, among other things.

If you don't have the pages let me know and I'll try and post them.

Cleaned clutches and the feed sensor. Problem solved. Thanks for the input.
