I am fighting a 5035 that will not add toner.Toner sensor in developer reads empty, but the solenoid will not activate.The solenoid will activate with sim 033.I have put in new dev unit, main controller pcb, harness from mpcb to dev, toner solenoid clutch assy.If you run sim 130, it Never does the "click,click,click" thing.is there anything else that will prohibit adding toner?

It appears to be in one of those 4 eproms that are on the main pcb.
This is a low count we bought from a wholesaler.
I wonder if these proms were hacked into. -
I can also tell you that these things don't use a regular toner motor. It takes the drive to feed toner from two belts and some gears coming off the paper feed motor. You need to check those. The eproms will be easier because these belts are buried behind the main board. Pack a lunch.
Just recently had one with some teeth missing off the belt. That will do it for you."Some days you get the bear, some days the bear gets you."

sorry for being obvious,but you checked/swapped out the toner cart?after that most common is the toner coupling gear which can get damaged by a faulty cart or a customer storing the spare cartridge standing on one end causing all the toner compacting into the drive end of the cart resulting into the coupling gear not being able to drive the toner cart gears.you can check the gear by hand ,you should only be able to turn the gear easily in one direction(anticlockwise I think),if you can turn the gear easily in both directions the centre of the gear is rounded out,and you will have the time of your life swapping that baby out!good luckComment
