    Ghost image on 620

Kyocera rep came this morning and couldn't resolve the problem, in the meantime I thought I would check here for ideas.

I have a 620 in the field that is producing faint copies of itself (that is to say, its not discharging or could be not cleaning the drum - thus leaving a light image of itself halfway down the page). Curling the paper so that the ghost image meets up with the real one gives me the exact circumference of the drum. We did a full PM (it was ready for one soon anyways) including drum, cleaning unit, and charge assy assuming the problem would go away. Unfortunately for us, it was still there. Where should we start? The Kyocera rep couldn't resolve it and I haven't heard from him as of yet for his recommendation.

I don't know if this machine is usually maintained by you, but if it is you'll know the answer.
Have you had any unusual copy quality problems that have caused you to tweak charge settings in simulation?

Usually the drum can't be cleaned when the the drum cleaning lamps are not functioning, or the primary charge is cranked up. I'd start by printing off the maintenance report, then examining any setting that is radically different than your reference machine/maintenance report. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That will certainly affect quality, but the other way, causing light prints as the drum cools, darker as the drum heats up.

OK, that's an idea. Is the machine cooling properly. Fans operating and pointing the correct direction, filters clean, openings not blocked?

I don't see that causing shadow images though. =^..^=

Technician reported fixed after replacing engine pcb this morning. Makes me think it was a connector and not a bad board, but noteworthy nonetheless.
Thanks for the ideas though guys!
