KM6030/Utax 1060 lines on prints and copies ( digitally generated)

This machine with 660 k and a maintainence kit to it's name is producing very thin pencil like grey lines from the top of the page to the bottom regardless of orientation. It looks like background until you look very closely. Then you can see the individual lines. Aswell as this when you print off say the count report, on the report where it gives serial number, count etc there is a ghost image of the text about 1 cm right below it but faded grey. This fault is repetative but intermittent and it's wrecking my head !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't seen anything like this on a Kyocera, but I had a Panasonic once that was printing digital lines / patterns in the background. I tried cleaning and re-seating connectors and memory, but ended up replacing the memory. That resolved the problem. Don't know if this helps, but you might try cleaning and re-seating the memory.

Let me see if I've got this right ...

      Lines appear on internal prints.
Lines appear on copies top to bottom (crossfeed) on LTR paper.
Lines appear on copies top to bottom (feed direction) on LTR-R paper.

It makes no sense to me. It's obviously not a scanning problem since it's on internal reports.

My guess is that those lines are always either crossfeed or in the feed direction, and that it's related to the laser and/or the laser wiring harness. There is an update to the laser wiring harness ... maybe it's related. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
