we have a fax system M at a location that functions fine 1/2 of the day and then stops receiving till the power off the cs 5050 and then it starts functioning again. we put the same fax in our shop and it works perfectly, we put a small desktop fax at there place and it works perfectly. anyone here have some suggestions on what the issue is or common adjustments in the fax to make it more reliable. thanks

What level of firmware are you at? Firmware versions 2.41, 2.43, & 2.44 have a bug affecting fax Rx. Upgrade to version 2.45.
I've seen corrupt firmware cause a fax card to lock up.
For kicks, you might try:
"Load Paper Tray #1" when paper is full. When attempt is made to cancel the offending document from the Status screen "Cannot cancel fax or ifax receptions." is displayed. When Fax System (M) is removed message disappears, all but fax is restored. Corrupt fax reception is stuck in memory. Export user data to USB in sim U917. Note destination (66), SMTP, and IP address. Run Data Clear U022. The offending document will be printed. Re-enter data and import U917 data.

4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
