Do you get this when you scan to file or email?

    Then its a

    Error: Host name

Wrong IP address or Host name your trying to scan to.

It depend on what you're trying to do when you get this error.

Could it be a U01101 or E01101, which is a fax communication error (function of the unit differs from the NSS signal)? This is usually what you get from poor phone line conditions.

Could it be a Send Email 1101, which is a problem with the SMTP server communication? Usually it's just an incorrect address programmed.

Could it be a Send FTP 1101, which is a problem with the destination server address?

It would help to know how you got this error. From a scan report, from a fax report, from the display screen, ...? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Do I need an FTP Server from Kyocera in order to make scan to ftp work. I am always used to Konica Minolta Ftp Server.

I never tried the Konica Minolta FTP server software on anything other than Konica stuff.

However a quick google search and http://usa.kyoceramita.com/americas/...tility3169.exe

            Good luck

Yes you need the ScanFile Utility to be able to scan to FTP. You can use Scanner File Utility version 4.11.04 or version 3.17.11
