    Mita AI4040 Background toner

I have a MITA 4040 where toner is printed on the background whether it is printed, copied or maintenance menu item. Toner Line comes on the leading edge and also along the 1/3 lower page area.It apears as developer bias problem. As of this time have changed developer mix and adjusted charges grid ,trans and developer.

    Thanks for all who reply

Make sure the customer isn't using "pirate" toner.
I know what I know better than anyone else knows what I know.

I agree. It sounds like aftermarket toner. Did the problem improve temporarily, immediately after the developer change?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

There is no need to ever adjust charges and other stuff like that on this model. You may have started down the road to doom.

If you haven't none it already, replace drum and corona wires. Also, remove the laser and clean the laser slit glass and all the crap inside the LSU. I have seen crud build up on the ends of the segments of the polygon mirror assy and cause uneven CQ problems.

PS.. I got a letter from Kyocera a few weeks back that said parts wouldn't be available for this machine as of very early next year. I would recommend that your customer start looking into upgrading to something built in the current Century before it dies and can't be fixed at all.

Also, you may need to change the entire main charger assy. We've had issues with background that the solution was more than replacing the charge wire, grid and housings.
