    TA-820 jams

    Hi All
Has any one come across the following fault?
We have a TA-820 that on first print every morning or if the m/c has been in sleep mode for a long time jams on the first page fine after that. J05 second feed timing out jam? the m/c just whir's over but then comes up with a jam. F/W up to date.
The paper sticks out of the main body of the m/c in the conveying section about 1-2 inches and the the next sheet on a multiple page doc is just leaving the 1st tray. told that this also happens from the 2nd tray aswell (bulk trays).
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Re: TA-820 jams

I realize that the CS-420i is not very similarly built, but I did have a 420 doing exactly this. Only the first page in the morning, same jam code. I guess it's fairly common on the Falcon III's, even new. I disassembled and cleaned the preregistration clutch and duplex clutch. While re-assembling I noticed that the disk side of the clutch still did not spin free, so removed a 0.25mm shim from that side. I've been back several times for they're other Stratos, but no re-occurrences on this one.

Extrapolating, I think I'd look at the clutches in the pickup and vertical path area. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hi All, the fix for this problem in the end was a new main pwb and f/w update. no issues in the last 3 months.
we did try a new board before but that caused another issue so we had to put the old one back in and then this was put on the back burner for a while.

          Re: TA-820 jams

having a lot of the 6030 and 620/820 copiers in my work area, I have seen a lot. another thing that i have seen doing this is the foam on the frame next to the fuser. what seems to happen is it gets melted at first warmup then cools down once the machines fuser temperature is set. once you remove the foam it stops jamming instantly.
