    [CQ] Printing dense colour on Saturn, not fusing properly

    G'day,

    I've encountered a 500ci today that will not fuse toner properly. I think the machine is fine, but rather its the document that's challenging the spec that the machine is designed for.

    Print ratio on 11x17:

    K: 23%
    C: 14%
    M: 11%
    Y: 14%

    It seems dense, and they are using uncoated paper from Z'rocks! Its a batch job 35 per set at doublesided.

    Is there a workaround in this case?

    I didnt go through paper and fusing 101, any word of wisdom is greatly appreciated. (I tried searching with related keywords here, not much luck.)

      I had a church with the same problem, the answer was to change the paper type in the system menu. Kyocera general bulletin 78 does a great job of breaking down paper types.

          Agreed. I suspect that the media you're using is not the standard plain paper. The fill level should have nothing to do with it. Even so, I'd try using a heavier media type setting to resolve this issue. How many times have you heard " ... but I never had to set the media type before/on the old machine.""Well you will on this one/now."

          Another common mistake among endusers is to print all the first sides, then re-load the paper to print all the second sides. With duplex printing primary and transfer charge values are significantly different for the second side. It's always best to print the whole job in one transaction, and let the machine compensate as needed for the second sides. =^..^=
          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              It turns out that I did miss the setting.

              thick on printer driver, but not thick in common setting.



              need more coffee!
