    Kyocera Mita 4050i - hangs at "loading program"

    the display panel only displays "Loading Program" and hangs there. The machine initializes - scanner, fuser, etc.. but the op panel hangs...
    Tried updating firmware and screen goes black.
    reboot with all doors open and peripherals detached. "loading prog.."
    Reseated controller and hdd "loading prog.."
    Replaced the controller and HDD ...same

    building lost power several times to cause this.

    Any ideas?

      Try reseating the RAM/Dimm, those are quite fragile.
      Idling colour developers are not healthy developers.

          Possibly engine PWB. =^..^=
          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              Reseat F-dimm on op panel and main PWB and memory on main PWB. Try flashing again with most current firmware. Please remember flashing can take up to nine minutes with the panel firmware being last and should display in panel. If this does not work you could also have a bad HDD or the F-DIMM's themselvews. If the HDD was writing when the power went it could have gone out. You can take the HDD out and perform a format on it an if it is good reinstall it and the machine will try to format it to its specs as the machine reboots.

                  Okay so I tried to reseat the dimms and all controller connectors. Tried reflashing again and same results.

                  I went ahead and swapped the controller & hdd & op panel. Also inserted Mem stick with most recent firmware and now I get CFB40 system error... It won't respond to firmware boot. Just goes straight into error.

                              I just had an issue with a Brand New 4500i, it would start scanning a copy job, it would scan 5 pages, then wait about 30 to 40 seconds, then print it, it would then scan the next 5 sheets, and repeat, when printing it was a similar issue, even when scanning, it would take a long time to upload the file. I Upgraded the Firmware to 2.0, the Issue was still there, getting CF14A and Another error, I initalized the HDD, still had the same issue, Formatted the HDD, it would continue with the issue, I ended up replacing the HDD, as soon as I did, the copier began working normal.

                                  You need to replace the operation panel en the code dimm as set good luck.
