We have had 3 CS-6030's develop the same problem on the same day in different locations. Had a customer call and say the control panel touch screen didn't work. When we got there, the panel worked but was out of alignment. Tried to re-initialize, sim 201. Worked for about 5 minutes, then jumped out of alignment in the opposite direction. Replaced the whole control panel with one from a working machine. The next day, the same thing happened. Tried the firmware. No help. Then, the same day, we had 2 more machines do the same thing. Seems an odd coincidence. The other 2 are in other locations, not in the same place. Any thoughts? |

Re: CS-6030 Touch Screen
I also have had several touch screens go within the past couple of weeks, and have two pending to look at. Our theory is the humidity is playing a factor, but nothing to back that up. I noticed the last one we ordered was back-ordered for a while, so my guess is we are not the only two techs seeing these failures.<edit> found this after a search for tablet.

Re: CS-6030 Touch Screen
I've replaced quite a few of these tablets on VoyagerE's but had not made any connection to heat or humidity.
Thanks for sharing! =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: CS-6030 Touch Screen
I turns out we had several bad ones so the machine itself was not the problem. However, must disagree with Kyo about the heat and humidity. This place is always cool and dry. These may contribute, but I think they just fail over time. Thanks for the reply.Comment

Re: CS-6030 Touch Screen
my wild theory is that those touch panel has a expiration date. Somewhere on google says these panel uses conductive glue. As it ages, it becomes less conductive, hence it explains why its dropping like flies assuming they're manufactured around the same time.Idling colour developers are not healthy developers.Comment
