    Kyocera KM3530

Hey guys, I just replaced the paper lift clutch on the bottom cassette in my customers KM3530 thinking that the broken clutch was the problem, but the machine still doesn't recognize that the cassette has paper, also the machine no longer prints confirmation reports after sending a fax,
and even after turning on the confirmation report setting, it still won't make a report, any idea on how to fix these problems?

    Thanks,
    GeoR

Then maybe it's time you looked into a new line of work if you're a tech and the manual doesn't help you.

So for me, the real question is, what exactly is the display saying?

Is it telling you to "Load Paper" or is it telling you to load a specific size or media type that aren't currently there?
Common on the Falcon I, II, and III is for the paper width size detection PWB to become dirty or make poor connection with the sliding contacts, so the tray is displaying 8 1/2 x 11, instead of 11 x 8 1/2 (LTR-R instead of LTR). The enduser can't tell the difference, but you can.

Just disassemble, and clean the PWB and contacts with Electrokleen (or something similar). No lubrication. It will just collect dirt and grit. Cassettes are dusty enough anyway. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thank you, for the help black cat, but the machine doesn't even recognize that there is any paper regardless of the size of the paper, regardless of which cassette I put in. Also the customer called and said that the fax no longer prints out a confirmation report when faxing, and even after changing the settings so that it would print out the confirmation report, it still doesn't print the confirmation report. If anyone knows how to fix this problem I would really appreciate the help, since that is what the customer is really unhappy about.

            Thanks,
            GeoR

Do you have a C1010 or a C1020 stored perchance? A U906 partial reset will get you past that.

I have seen something similiar where the rear connector of the tray and the back of machine had small pieces of paper in it, causing wrong paper size or no paper. Also try swapping the cassette feed assys, sometimes the sensors get dirty and weirded out. Just my 2 cents worth.

Like black cat said Try doing a Sim 906 reset first, Also when you take out the top tray can you see the bottom try? see if its lifting, try switching feed units around, I have seen the plastic lever on the feed units break I cant remember if that will cause a no paper error or not.

reset first, then swap feed sections, then tray, then tray connectors,
i,ve seen the actual sensor for the paper detect arm popped out of position a few times, this will give a problem like yours or intermittant jams.

On more than one instance I have come acrossed the black lever in the rear of the tandem tray becoming dislodged and causing this no paper condition.
