Kyocera Mita 4050 5050i Large Capacity Tray Issue

It seems like at some point every KYM device with a tandem tray or LCT (Large Capacity Tray) errors out. I have to go in an execute U906 to reactivate the tray. The problem is ongoing and after much searching on here there is still no resolution.

In the past I have gotten away with replacing the paper pick-up assy, but there has to be a more cost effective means to fix this issue. If anyone has dealt with this issue could you please share what you have found to be the best resolution (aside from u906)

    Thanks,
    Mike

Have upgraded FW whilst you had LCT installed?

        Which errors? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I should have clarified.... It doesn't actually error out. What typically happens is I walk in and notice tray 1 is defaulted to primary pick up. When I go in to change it back tray 3 (large capacity tray) is greyed out. So I go into service mode and execute u906 (remove device from limited functions mode) and reboot. When looking @ the jam hist it looks like repeat jams occurs before the lct is disabled.

According to customers it happens When it feeds the last sheet.

If you look at U000 > Event Log
What errors do you see. Jams by themselves should never lock out an accessory.

I was having an issue similar to this on a TA 500ci. The spring and gear that lifts the paper in the back wasn't popping forward when they would shut the tray causing the the motor to keep spinning and shutting off after a certain amount of time disabling the entire tray 3.

Good to know. I wonder if task alpha or Kyocera has a tech pub on this?
