    km 205c w/F040

had a f040. ordered and replaced the main pwb from km but tripped a 0180 code. so i executed mode 4 and matched the pwbs. now the ONLY THING that doesn't work is scanning through the dp. when scanning through the dp i get blank copies, on the glass is fine. now the scanner settings in the manual say that the default for sims 63/65/66/67/68/70/71/72/74 are all at o. i did try each step in increments of one and tested sim (63 shading from -6 to 18) but no luck. on the maintenance report that i printed from the machine with the new main in are not what the manual has. not sure if its stored on the main or the eeprom on the engine for this one. i checked the other ends of the wiring from the main and all connectors and ribbon cables are in. i know yc112 on the main is for the exp lamp led pwb and yc113 is for the ccd pwb which i checked for good connections. (these two are ribbon cables by the way). if either one of these connections were bad i would have a code or i couldn't get a copy off the glass. hmmmmmmmmm????????????? ideas appreciated. thanks t

I don't see firmware in your post anywhere. That's the first place I would have started.
There is no guarantee that the new board you installed is at a firmware level compatible with the other firmware already loaded. It usually isn't. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

i tried the firmware but didn't take. i may not be downloading it correctly to the usb stick. i have a 16g and 512mb that i downloaded to, extracted all 41 files and it is displayed in a folder on the stick. the procedure in the sm says just to place in the op panel slot of the machine with the stick in and it will start the transfer. am i supposed to press a button on the display first before i turn it on with the stick in or am i downloading it wrong to the stick. ver 2.0 on the km site is the one i have 5/2011. thanks t

The firmware needs to extracted first, then the 41 files need to reside on the root (no folder). And nothing else can be on there. I think you'll have better luck with the 512MB stick. All my firmware sticks are 248MB. The smaller the better. The slower the better. Don't turn off the power or remove the stick until you get the "Completed" screen. Be sure to check the results. "Completed" and "No Change" are fine. Pay attention to the "Failed" results. =^..^=

I know this is going to sound odd but I've had the same problem on the TA-500ci series and it turned out to be the fuser went bad.
