you can check and clean for excess toner in and around the black dv unit. Then run U464 AC Calibration, DV and Drum Refresh modes, do your color registration and calibration.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

There is a new black development unit which solves this issue. First upgrade firmware to V12 and then replace the black development unit, and run U464. Here in Holland we can claim the old one and get a refund from Kyocera.

We installed new style dev unit on a 400ci and a 552ci and both copiers make really odd noises when running (like a creaky door being opened).

I noticed that too, but it resolved the C7000 and C7101 codes. Imaging what it will be like with all four of them creaking. =^..^=
