Venus, perfect print, out of focus on copies (glass & DP)

    G'day gents,

symptom: perfect prints, copy on glass and DP appears to be out of focus. Seems like the the Optics is over compensating for something.

this one puzzles me dearly, I think it has to do with the auto half tone feature but I cant explain why. It was working perfectly when it left the shop.

One thing I did notice is there can be too much sun light in the office space, could that be it?

    any thougts is appreciated.

edit: I'm behind on this one, maybe this QA is related. time to snooze...

I get the feeling that she is near new. Could the delivery people have hurt our Venus?

Take a ledger/A3 test pattern with good resolution lines, and make some copies. Then scan them to us, if you will.
    I'd like to see. =^00^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      new she is!

The sample is exactly as the QA article page 1. Please refer to it if anyone has similar issue.

The glue or whatever they use for the clear plastic isnt robust, so as BlackCat mentioned it could have been shaken loose during transit. (or rolled on sidewalk for couple blocks..you know..the usual downtown delivery..)

All one need to do is, detach them plastic thing, wipe them clean with solvent(not hardcore type), then expoxy or super glue them back on.

Make sure its somewhat center. Then go to u411, Auto DP adj.

You may get S001. If that happens, make sure the table u067 and DP u072 centerline is back at 0. you can re-center them later.

or..warranty the sucker. I doubt this part is readily available though.

I had this happen to me.The image scanner is in two parts, the frame and the lens unit. The lens unit seems to "float" within the frame centered by the 4 spring guides. Problem is the lens unit needs to be affixed within the frame without movement...Its not. The spring guides are not strong enough to hold the lens unit centered, a good bump will through everything out of focus. I wound up playing with the positioning of the lens unit until a got a clear copy . The replacement unit we received under warranty had the the plastic guides glued in place.
