    [CQ] Cs3050ci Paper Suggestion

hey guy/gals just looking for a glossy paper suggestion for a customer, we tried a few different types and matched and played with the thickness + gloss settings but had no real luck and these people just dont feel like buying a sample paper pack they want a definitive ansewr for paper and when i called kyo tech support they never gave me a direct answer no matter how many times i asked

so if anyone has a Low-Gloss paper that they have working on this machine i would be much obliged to know the paper type and settings that are being used for it thanks!

You couldn't get a definitive answer on glossy media because the results are not consistent. If cornered, I'll advise to do as little glossy media as possible. The results are not consistent regardless of manufacturer or media, or manufacturer of MFP. Poor fusing, or dull print seems to be the complaint. Even with the correct media type selected (and it usually isn't), there is no guarantee of success.

The failed attempt leaves significant toner on the fuser rollers. It could take 50 or more blank prints to feed off the toner left in the fuser, or scrubbing rollers.

If you start taking a close look at the glossy paper stock available, 80% of the available stock is intended for inkjet only. Read the labels. "For use in inkjet printers"
If it doesn't say laser on there somewhere, I'm not touching it.

When pressed to do a job in-house the only stock I could find that specifically said that it was for laser printing was 28# bond, and with Thick designation printed OK. We stuck to sets of 20 or less pages, and let the fuser warm up for a minute in between sets.

This document may help in identifying the suitable media type setting:

All I'm suggesting is, don't make any promises you can't keep. Leave that to the salespeople. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
