    [CQ] 620 light/blank bands.

I have a 620 with 1.8 mil on it that is plagued with random bands that gradually go light or blank from front to rear, usually about 1 to 2 inches wide, on copies, prints, and even internal prints. It first began at around 1.3 mil, and the problem has escalated since then. In the beginning, I was able to go 250-150k without it returning, now, it may occur twice a day, or once every four days. Developing and TC units have been changed, along with the High voltage board in the back of the machine. Today I was on site with a regional rep and the machine started out light across the whole page, we ran a HDD format, copies and prints returned to normal. We then ran a 989 scan, completed o.k., but within five prints, the copies became washed out again. Once again, a format of the hard drive returned it to normal and we couldn't get it to fail again today. Sorry for the long explanation, but didn't want to miss any detail that might trigger a memory in someone. Anyone know a fix for this?

Have you looked at the developer bias contact? This particular problem is very common on the Harrier series.

      See:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Attached is a sample image. Contacts were checked on the image drawer. Image can vary from the sample, sometimes the whole image is washed out, sometimes I will get only one band on an image, and sometimes the bands are much closer together.

Have you narrowed it down yet as to transfer versus other charge? Just emergency stop the machine so that you can see if the latent image is present but poorly transferred.

How about drum ground? Possibly chipped drum? =^..^=

did you check if there is an image on the drum if its clear the only thing you need to change the transfer unit

Update: Tried the AC board, and the board under the transfer section. Still have the banding and washed out copies and prints.
