    km-5050 cassette

    I have a km-5050 I replaced d broken rack cursor in d cassettethat worked fine but later discovered a week later that when u close d cassette,it displays ( READY TO COPY) but immediately displays ( CASSETE NOT INSTALLED) again.....all connectors & cable in d cassette are intact,pls wat do I do next

    Sounds like the lift motor, It could have taken out the engine board as well.
    The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Nah,I doubt its d lift motor because I tried a new cassette in & it worked fine,thanks

          With the cassette removed, push the the switch with the white flange. This tells the machine that the cassette is inserted and activates the lift motor. If a different cassette is working then this tells me that something in the current cassette isn't pushing in that switch. Match it up and check that part of the cassette, shim it if you have to. Also remove the switch and check to see if anything is cracked. All the connector does it tell the machine the paper size, which you can specify manually.
