Any real differences between Kyocera and Copystar?

I was kind of wondering if there were any differences between Kyocera and Copystar. From what I could tell, Copystar distributes their lower end machines through "distributors" like Collins, Carolina wholesale, and Nuworld, etc.

I've also heard people joke that if someone couldn't afford a Kyocera then they should get a Copystar...I always thought they were the same thing.

How about as far as the individual companies go? Any differences there?

Copystars are just rebranded Kyoceras. The only physical difference is maybe the toner cartridges are keyed a little differently, contents are the same, though.

The newer Copystars and Kyoceras use the same exact toner cartridges, unlike the FalconII, FalconIII.

I wonder if the chipped units are identifiable as Kyocera or Copystar or Utax? I discovered the hard way the Konica Minolta and Oce' units have different chips. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Changing the Product Code (U265) could be a workaround for that, provided the cartridges are keyed the same.

Copystar is a good brand for a small company.

From what I understand you don't have the quota like Kyocera.

Stay away from color though, customers never satisfied and a PM damn near costs as much as the machine.

I too found out that the NEC use different things than the konica minolta...a lot is the same but some things are different.
