right this is communication error
first we replaced engine pcb
then main pcb
then dimm and HDD
this error is showing after welcome Screen(when loading the HDD) exactly after 2 minutes and when uploading the firmware it gives error (hi voltage cpu error)this error is appearing in the middle. CF card also same(no change).not able to update.
Are you getting the error after power-cycling printer with communication cable (network, parallel, usb) unplugged from machine? If the error is coming up and you have the communication cable plugged in, be sure and check your Print Queue and delete any jobs that may be stuck, then re-try it.

Take the HDD out reformat it and slap it back with NEW FW on USB stick OR CF in CF slot and try to reload the FW TO NEW HDD..
COMM ERROR between Operational panel and main PCB?
If changing the dimm on panel make sure you change panel pcb too .
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?
Re: Firmware.
Reformat a 1-2Gb USB stick to FAT16. Reinstall the Firmware one single update at a time on the USB/CF stick. Do your "Panel software" , then "Engine Software" etc., etc..... The reason being: you may have some sort of on board memory limitation due to an i/o error. Loading one firmware modual update at a time can help over come this.
Wait for each update to complete......... it may take some time to update. Try... to... be... patient....

I will share my Knowledge Regarding this problem.
This was a communication error between Engine and Main PCB,but we replaced as i mentioned my previous posts that we tried every thing.we made around 6 visits to this machine (3 different service engineers).
At last we pull out this machine and given standby machine to the customer.
We sent email to kyocera and they reply??????????????????????? .they faced this problem in field and after changing fuser unit problem was solved.
you will be shocked that this was a fuser problem.after changing fuser unit machine working perfectly alright.
do you imagine that this was a fuser problem???????

You may need to separate the High voltage CPU firmware for the model you sre having trouble updating from the standard firmware and update it first. I believe that BkackCat had some information regarding this problem. According to him KDA no longer offers this file. I was able to separate these files from the standard firmware file and it does work if you have the correct chosen the correct files

Hi guys,
Can somebody explain me how to separate files for FW update?
We're experiencing a CF040 on a Task420i and brains are burning
We tried to reset panel, update firmware (USB or CF -> same result).
Every time we try, there's a different error (Panel/CPU/Browser....etc) and the mainframe still does'nt work...
Thanks for your help to come (and sorry for my french-glish....!)
