    DF-790 parts enquiry

    Hi,

I'm having trouble finding a part!

Taskalfa5500i... DF-790... Plastic paper guide marked "D6" snapped by customer.

Sits almost vertically, about 4" deep, pivots from the upper edge, sprung.

It's the smaller of and highest up of 2 guide plates.

I've looked at the manual 3 times and seached on line... STILL can't find it!

    Any help appreciated.

    Is this what you want?:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks Xeroid / blackcat / taskalfaman.

Your numbers match, so I'll order the parts... One final question, is there a clip to hold the guide in? I'm not that familiar with this unit and the peg at the front of the guide is missing.

          Thanks to all again.

Where were you able to find those part numbers? I have checked all the manuals and then searched that part number after the fact and still didn't see them.

It is in a bulletin, the front pin breaks so they have redesigned with thicker plastic. I've had 3 broken so far.

All that holds it in is a white plastic C clip.

Yes, there is a spring at the back that makes the guide to flip to 2 positions - closer to the drum and further apart. A bit ass to get it right.

On the front is white plastic C - clip it should be still attached to the mainframe of the finisher, although it depends where it broke.

I think I was one of the first one to have it broken, man that was a hunt and a half to get the part. Now is available so you should be OK with the numbers above.

                  Good luck.
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?

                    UPDATE

                    The parts were correct.

The guide is modified with the handle at the front rotated about 30 degrees clockwise and the arrow on the label pionts in a different direction to match. Otherwise fits as before.

                    Thanks to all who helped.
