Re: kyocera 1635 lead edge 2 inch too light
Have you tried to do the test print? Is the problem coming from the scanner or the printer engine? If the problem comes from the printer engine do clean the laser mirrors and glasses. Also try to copy on A3 size paper to see the 2-inch light repeats several times along the path. -

... and does that light area repeat on the A3 page more than once? If yes, what interval? =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: kyocera 1635 lead edge 2 inch too light
So you're saying that both copying and printing have the same result. And on A3 size paper only the leading edge is light and exactly the same result with A4 size paper.
This information tells us that there is no problem with the scanning and laser unit as well as the optics. You can then imagine that the lead edge of the paper tends to move away from the transfer charger or the drum unit. You have problem with the mechanisms involving the stability of the paper along the path near the drum and the transfer. Try to scrutinize the mechanism.
Another thing is to check the calibration of the transfer voltage. I hope this helps.Comment
