KM-C3225,specs in solid areas

I've come accross a problem on a KM-C3225 copier. When printing to the copier,envelopes, the heavy black letterhead like return address has spects or lite dots in bold print. When I make copies of a test chart onto a envelope the blacks are solid. I should also mention that the envelopes are printed in the full color mode, and the test samples were in black only. bypass

is the bypass media set for envelopes?and if you are running color thats about .10 for each envelopes printed
not very cost effective

Yes the customer is printing in color on envelopes.

I'm not terribly surprised. Have you ever had a double feed and the image appeared to have poor transfer? That's because additional transfer is required for thicker (read: double layers) of paper.

With envelopes there are areas with 2, 3, and sometimes 4 layers of paper. How do you compensate with transfer voltage when the thickness of the paper varies?
