Re: 250ci/500ci fading black after mod black dev unit
There was a bad batch of motors at the beginning. There was a bulletin out about them blowing fuses. The new style motors will not do that.
On a similar note, I managed to shoot myself in the foot during an Main HVT replacement. While re-assembling I managed to pinch to frame ground the harness from CN1-1 on the cleaning motor K to YC16-B11 on the engine board. I got C2351 errors, which were not cured by an engine board, or a cleaning motor, or a drum unit. The motor did run, but slowly and at inconsistent speed in service mode.
Like all harness problems I wasted an extraordinary amount of time before tracking the harness from point to point.
Just a thought. =^..^=

Re: 250ci/500ci fading black after mod black dev unit
Well, called kyocera tech support and they sent a bulletin that had a diagram of the fuse on the developing motor. checked it and it was bad. replaced it with a good motor and the machine ran for about 20 prints then threw a c7000 again. Checked the motor and it was good. Removed the develping unit, turned it by hand about 10 times and shook the hell out of it. put it back in and was able to get the machine to run normally. so far we've put about 500 thru it without anything going wrong.
Let it sit overnight and we're going to run a big job thru it tomorrow (2k +) to see if it will cause us any problems.
So if the dev motor blew the fuse, it likely happened because the dev unit was too full or caused too much resistance to the motor. what bothers me i don't know what caused this in the first place. why did too much toner get into the dev unit and bind it up? bad sensor in the dev unit hopefully ?Leave a comment:

We have had the wiper for the toner sensor at the bottem of the DV unit come off and bind up the DV unit. But if you have already swapped out with a known good should eleminate that< other than the binding up causing an upstreem problem. We have used a samsung friction pad to replace the missing wiper. our K unit goes lite without the wiper and the Magenta unit has overtoned.
have you done the disposal motor upgrade? PN 302H793341 ? Wouldn't help the dv problem But I have had odd stuff from Mod's not done pop-up before.
Hope this adds some help to this old postLeave a comment:

Thanks for the info, I'll give that a shot. Luckily we have a 250ci parts machine.Leave a comment:

Yes, K DV is not rotating which ,causing a constant add toner situation. Toner is constantly added causing a backup and increased drag on the toner motor, throwing the code.
Look in the throat of the DV (compare it with the others
), it should not be full of toner.Leave a comment:

Did you try replacing the Bk Dv motor.Leave a comment:

Re: 250ci/500ci fading black after mod black dev unit
we have a 250ci that was terrible wavy black output, replaced the black drum and developer units, then it was cycling between add toner and throwing a c7101: . We've swapped toner motors from a used machine, dev unit, new toner, known good toner hopper, sensors, and replaced the engine board. Now the machine is stuck on c7000: bad toner motor .... kinda getting frustrated with this one. Anyone else had any issues like this?Leave a comment:

This is an old topyc now but this issu is about 50% cases on our market.
I cant but my finger on this matter but all of our motor related errors are actually Dev unit error when it has ran out of developer.
And all is casued my K unit. So far only 10% of K DEV units have lasted their given lifetime. All others have been changed before.
If the machines has not brought up this problem before 150 000 copy mark then it will last until the end.Leave a comment:

U325, check coverage ratio on status page...if 5% to 10% change to mode 4, if above 10% change to mode 5.
I have also seen toner add motors failing...anything in the log c70XX?Leave a comment:

hi venom,
what toner add mode are you talking about?

Re: 250ci/500ci fading black after mod black dev unit
I suspect the black dev unit has too much dev missing now...that customer must do heavy solids....look at coverage report and change toner add mode to compensateLeave a comment:

I would swap the black dev. drive motor with the black cl motor to see if the sympton changesLeave a comment:
