Today I attempted firmwarw updates at 2 different customers, same model km2560. The update will not take and shows a CPU Error. I've used this firmware before with no problem. Ive tried a different 2gb usb stick. Ive attached a pdf of the screen it displays. Basically, the update will not take, currently they have a 2008 version firmware. Has anyone had this happen to them and what is the solution?? Thanks for your advice and help. Sometimes machine says to place paper in bypass in order to print even though paper is available in cassette, therefore I would upgrade firmware....besides that, machines are working ok.

Re: Km2560 firmware CPU Error
Not sure what would cause this error... Have you made sure the firmware files are not inside a folder and on the root of the USB? Verified it's the correct model firmware? etc...Do for one what you wished you could do for everyone. - Andy Stanley -
Re: Km2560 firmware CPU Error
Agree with DWise. The firmware must be for the correct model, extracted, and all the files placed on the root of the drive. Typically I use the smallest possible USB stick that still hold all the files. I think 1G. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I used this same firmware as before with the same usb stick (preveously had no issues). All unzipped and the files are the only thing in the root. I tried Fat and Fat32. Neither worked. I power off, insert usb, power back on. I'll download a fresh copy of the firmware and retry it to see if it makes a difference. Thanks and I'll get back on here sometime next week...I dont have a smaller usb stick than 2gb. Cant seem to find the smaller ones.Comment
