    [Misc] Creasing

I am working on Copystar 3050ci, i first went to the account because they were experiencing creasing on copies and prints. Per the troubleshooting guide there is a new modified guide. I ordered it and installed it. The customer just called back with the same issue. Any ideas out there would be greatly appreciated.

In most of the cases i have seen. The creasing is caused by moisture in the paper.
You should check maintenance mode (10871087) and sim 327. These are the tray heaters and should be put to on.
Give the machine 24 hours to heat up and dispers of any moisture in the paper.

Can you show an example of the creasing?

Check the heat belt bushing. I've seen them ground to dust on the drive end. It may also be accompanied by gear noise and C6600 intermittently. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Figured out what was causing the creasing, on the convey unit there are 4 white pulleys. The 2 towards the rear of the unit were not moving. There are springs that hold them down. I cut the springs down 2 loops, reinstalled and tested. The creasing is gone!

I've got a machine doing the same thing and the two rear guides are pushed out further than the front two. It was late in the day on a Friday and did not want to try and race the clock, plus I wasn't exactly sure how to get in there. Cut the spring down, I'll give that a try.

did the creasing start after a new fuser was installed?

I don't know if we have replaced the fuser in that machine or not (probably we have), but I don't think that these roller would be affected by a new fuser because of the distance between the two, but I won't say it's not the reason.

On all the machines the springs are different on the rear side for the white rollers, you would think they should be the same ?

Perhaps. I did not take the front ones off and compare sizes, but it might be something to look into.

seems to be a common problem, as the rear springs are too strong for the holder and the shaft pops out - KM have modified the part - 302K908250 (holder middle pulley)
