Relax guys.he said what the error was.

The screen says failure there is no c code.

This is a known issue, many posts on dnet.

Whoever (sorry on my phone) it's a frame/sensor issue is exactly correct.

The error will come back until you fix it

That's correct JR2ALTA. In the original post I had stated what the error was. The display said exactly: "Paper Cassette has failure Tray 3" The 906 reset took care of that error. You mentioned that that error message will come back due to the sensor failing? is that correct? Are you talking about the 2 sensors located at the back of the cabinet, where the long black levers that are pressed by the paper cassette, when the paper cassette is pushed in and latched?
After I cleared the error, I tested the machine using the LCT (tray 3.) The machine is feeding multiple sheets of paper, causing it to jam now. Whoever serviced this machine before me had, stretched out the springs that hold tension on the separation roller. I'll be making yet another trip back to this client's location to replace the springs, since I didn't have the correct springs with me. Ugh!! The rollers still look new, as there are no signs of wear. Thanks again!

Re: CS-5050 High Capacity "Paper Cassette has failure Tray 3"

I went out on-site today to replace the springs, and apparently that isn't the problem with the misfeeding. I have never run into this particular problem in all the years of servicing copiers. The LCT is still pulling 3 sheets of paper when trying to copy something, causing a paper jam. The tray appears to be all the way up in the correct position. It acts like the separation roller is either worn, or doesn't have enough pressure to separate the paper, and allow only one sheet at a time. Visually, the rollers look new, and the springs are new, and do provide the right amount of pressure. Any suggestions with this issue?

Can you get a jam code? (Hint: it's on the same error log the the error code.) =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Open the tray 3 side paper drawer and look to see if there is a paper sensor flag there or not. Your problems might be related. I had a machine inwhich tray 3 had failed. After resetting I was getting jams and what looked like multifeeds from tray 3. The paper sensor flag had been broken off and the machine kept misfeeding paper. Eventually the machine "disconnected" tray 3 so it could still be used. Once I replaced the sensor flag, it worked just fine.
