I've got a Task Alfa 420i with a DF-760 (3000 sheet finisher) getting a Jam 85 exiting to the sub tray. I've already got the customer to put thick plywood under machine and finisher. Any suggestions?

Re: Task Alfa 420i, DF-760, Jam 85
I've got lots of J85's on the FalconIII with the DF-710, and none on the FalconIV with the DF-760. Perhaps some of the former may be applicable?
Misfeeds (Jam J85) to the DF-710 finisher. Finisher height adjusting wheel has been flipped over, misaligning the MFP outlet/finisher inlet. Reposition the finisher height adjusting wheel and secure with a 5mm screw. Remove any paper scraps from the punch area. Reposition the inlet mylars.
Misfeeds (Jam J85) to the DF-710 finisher does not clear. Sensor flag ESW3 near guide D1 is knocked out of it's holder due to rough jam removal. Re-position sensor flag for photointerrupter ESW3.
Misfeeds (Jam J85) to the DF-710 finisher. Booklet Solenoid mounting bracket has been deformed, and the gate does not move. Why? Excessive roughness? Gate function can be tested in sim U240 > Finisher Sol > Booklet Sol. Remove saddle stitcher cover D5 to view gate operation. Reform or replace Solenoid C Mount (3034JY36450, fig 10-22).
Misfeeds (Jam J85, J87) to the DF-710 finisher. 3 or 4 pages are accordianned at the finisher entrance. Crowned floor surface causes bottom of finisher to contact base unit before finisher latches, pulling the left door open. Also excessive humidity, curling paper. 10% finisher mating, 90% humidity. Shimmed large finisher wheels with (2) stacked washers between the wheel mount and bottom frame. Insert frame crossmember between wheel mount and frame. Advised customer to turn down newly placed humidifier. If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Task Alfa 420i, DF-760, Jam 85
Thanks BlackCat. I went back today and cleaned all four gate solenoids on that DF-760. That seems to have fixed the J-85. At the same time, I found the pin had fallen out of the torque limiter on cassette #1's PF section, causing massive multi-feeds. ....I thought those pins were pressed in! That may also have had some bearing on the jams, ya think?Comment

Re: Task Alfa 420i, DF-760, Jam 85
Yeah, those extra pages might contribute just a little to the jamming.
Sort-of on the same lines, on the MPT feed unit, I've seen enough sloppiness in the separation drive that the torque limiter would slip off the notches in the separation roller. Next time you take one apart take a look. I put ~2mm worth of shims onto the shaft behind the clip, to take up the slack, now works perfect. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
