The 1028/1128 didn't? I know they revised the fuser and firmware for the thermistor grinding into the fuser roller as I've replaced more than I care to remember...hell replaced 4 in the last week and a half...I've not replaced any 1135's....same problem or different issue?

did one the other day. grinding noises and fuser had grooves worn into the upper roller. but overall they seem to work better than the earlier models

Man I really hope these 1135's don't go down that road....I can change these fusers in my sleep I've changed so damn many....you'd think Kyocera would fix that design flaw....

Thermostats scratching heat rollers? Maybe they're designed by Konica

They do a little bit more than scratch...they carve into the roller...I had one customer who ignored the loud grinding noise and ran it until he cut the roller in half....

Agreed, but see the fuser comment above.

Does anyone know what cause the thermistor to suddenly drop down on top of the roller causing it to wear?

The plastic BUSH HEAT L and R wear down over time (sooner than they should) which causes heat roller (which revolves inside them) to drop down and the first thing it touches is the thermostat underneath it. Kyocera has updated those plastic parts by changing material, but it could be better.

Kyocera has also released firmware to resolve this issue.Kyocera 1128 FW.jpg
