    TaskAlfa 5500i C0980

    Hello There,

Have a machine that came with
    C0980 - 24 V power down detect24V disconnection signal is
    detected for 1 s and 12V
    disconnection signal is not
    detected.

So I though PWR supply or something shorting.

Went to clients machine, changed power supply and it was giving 24v although only up to the FWPB1.

Then I came across a bulletin with this code. So I have checked for any pinched wires for fans. None found checked continuity on wiring. All clear. Except fuse one Fuse on FPWB1 which is now open. So changed the fan and FPWB1 as per bulletin when we pulled the machine to workshop. Hoping for machine to boot and again C0980.

Going now to strip it and check for any other wires to be pinched which will be a pain. Just thought if any of you had similar issue and it wasn't a pinched wire on Cooling fan DLP70 as per KM bulletin.

    Cheers for any suggestions.
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?

I would strongly advise to check on next visit for any 5500i or such, and see if you have a connector TN_FAN2 on YC19 harness for EPWB somehow close to the mainframe of the machine. Mine was touching with pins a screw just above it and grounding 24V right through the mainframe. I would suggest to wrappit with isolation tape!!

What an amazing find habik! That appears to be a dead ended connector (maybe for some component that never made it to this model), that just happens to be resting on screw threads. And replacing the fuse restored power? Congratulations! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

refused = indicate or show that one is not willing to do something.

re-fused = could it mean replacing the blown fuse..

Great, your problem is solved. Stay with CTN and don't be afraid to ask the questions. The terminologies will make sense as you go along. cheers.
