    CS-5050 Jams J14 every time

Talk about a totally stupid thing downing a machine: this CS-5050 keeps trying to pick up from an empty bypass tray. Why? Because a plastic C-clip was installed backwards. The flange on the clip lifts up the PE flag when the lift clutch rotates. Paper appears to be present, and it attempts to feed the imaginary paper. J14 results.

This is the way the clip should be installed.

Sorry, it appears that the photos came out upside-down. Stand on your head while viewing photos. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      I won't dispute that. Fortunately I wasn't that rookie. =^..^=
