Is EcoPrint on? Check other Print Settings? Using OEM toner?

ecoprint off, using genuine toner, print settings ok, seems like toner starvation.

Having the same issue. We have tried 2 different DV units. And the customer called back today saying that the blacks are really washed out again.

All the Saturn bulletins will apply to this machine equally. Particularly the developer motor/cleaning motor bulletin. Firmware current? =^..^=

          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

Machine seems not to be adding toner enough. Was looking at ordering toner motors but having trouble finding them in parts book. I was thinking it was part of Fig 21. Just looking for verification on this. Thanks

                Re: FSC-8500dn

I have seen dead and slow running developer motors. I've never seen a faulty Saturn toner motor. The way you can tell the difference is to look in the toner spout of the developing unit. Is there an unmixed pile of toner, yet it's still asking? Then the developing unit is not agitating. Is the toner thoroughly mix in? Then you may have a toner motor problem. Or the toner cartridge may be seized up.

As likelihoods go, I'm leading towards
                1) the developing motor
                2) compacted toner in the cartridge
                3) the toner motor

But of course, it's up to you. Look at the Saturn bulletin. =^..^=

try checking the firmware and then upgrade, but if it started when installed, best to return to manufacturer.
