    [Misc] Booklet Finisher Creases? TA5501i , BF-730

Hi guys,, On a kyocera taskalfa 5501i with a booklet finisher. the booklet finisher is the bf-730. Is there a way to adjust the amount off crease/fold that it creates? The customer says that it use to put better folds on his books and now it doesnt fold very well. The only adjustments i found is for the positioning of fold or position of the staples.

    thanks.

The amount of fold is the product of three factors:
    1) The amount of pressure, applied by some big beefy springs.
    2) The positioning of the knife.
    3) The type of media your enduser is using.

Of all of these the main thing that you don't have any control over is your enduser feeding 250 g/m2 media, and telling the machine it's plain paper (because the folder isn't designed for 250 g/m2 paper). Look at the media. Read the specs. Then tell them it's just not designed to do that. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

So I presume booklets are fold and stapled in centre and you have creases on the paper from left to right on booklet assuming the cetral fold(crease) is from top to botom, right?

Or is it just fold crease that is out of the middle slightly and the edges don't bind nicely as if you need extra cut?

Have you cleaned the main rollers on the booklet maker!

I have found that if the staple is right on the fold, the fold is not to pretty. Adj. the staple position so that the staple is not right on the fold. I move it toward the back a little.
