    Kyocera KM-4050 Cassette 1 tray wont open (Copier Moved with Paper in Cassette)

    Hi Folks,

    Cassette tray 1 will not open. When looking inside best I can, I see a half ream of paper still in the tray and the tray lift seems extended to top of tray. Is there any way to reset that tray so it can open? Evidently girls left paper in the tray before the copier was moved to the other building.

      Try turning the machine off to open stuck trays. Discovered this by accident trying to open a drawer that the customer didn't have the guides tight against the paper and the tray stuck.

          Which drawer ? did you try 906? Depending which drawer you can take the lift motor motor off in the back

              You may need to remove the lift motor from the rear to get the lift plate to drop. =^..^=
              If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                  U906 will not always release the trays. Try switching off the machine and remove power cable and leave it off for 30 seconds.

                          This helped me even in 2021, thanks. Kyocera M6030cidn, just helped me to find out where to look, just removed lift motor, it whined and cassette was unblocked.

                                  So, a blackcat post from 2014 solved a problem today. Maybe we should start a permanent "thank you blackcat" thread. May save some time.
