    Kyocera 4035 Scanning

    Hello,

    I am having trouble with my 4035. I have setup the scanner utility and address book, but the scanner only seems to be working for a couple days and stops until I restart the computer it is setup on. Right now I am only scanning to PC, a folder in my server.I am running scanner utility version 4.11.02. I have scanner utility and address always running and the computer never logs off or sleeps.

    On installation you need to select the checkbox for "Install As A Service". I've never installed it any other way. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      The installation has nothing that says install as service

        Try installing the earlier version 3.16.9 in desktop mode. I have trouble scanning to newer computers running windows 7 and 8 using the file utility 4.11. However the earlier version has seemed to work.

          The previous version was 3.16.9 I believe, I have setup tasks scheduled to always start both address book and scanner utility when the computer boots up.

            Is there any benefits of installation as a service vs desktop mode? Which one is recommended? I went ahead and re-installed scanner utility version 3.16.9 as a service and Address Book version 1.3.0 on my server. I do believe I previously installed it as a service and not desktop mode anyway. Does address book need to be running as well together with scanner utility in order for scanning to work? My server is 2K3
