    UTAX CD 1250 error 2203

When I scan to a Computer folder I have error 2203?
Also I can configure the machine at Internet Explorer, isn't that mean that the connection is established.
    OS: Windows 8.1
By the way I had a successful scan attempts 2 or three times before but now I had this error 2203 ?
I still configure the machine at the Internet Explorer but couldn't do scan.

    Pls help.

Sure you can print to it. So you assigned an IP or let DHCP do it for you. And you installed a driver. Did you enter the SMTP credentials? It's not at all related to the print setup.

Essentially you need to tell the scanner exactly where you'd like the scans to go. I'm sure Kyocera (or Utax) writes a very nice email setup guide. It's the same machine as a KM-5050. Maybe this will help:

Take a look at the Advanced tab > SMTP

If none of this makes any sense to you, please contact a network person. They'll know what to do. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The folder you are scanning to has to be shared and permissions given. Don't use simple file sharing, but go to advanced sharing -> share this folder -> permissions and check "full control". If it's a domain, pull that user and check "full control".

Under the SMB tab of the machine's web config everything has to be entered correctly:

Hostname: The hostname of the pc you are scanning to, or it's IP address if it has a static one assigned to it.
Path: Just the name of the shared folder you are scanning to (no need to enter full path, folder can be anywhere on the local machine).
Username: The username of the user that's gonna scan. Don't refer to the control panel's username cause those are often changed. If windows 7 or 8, go to the C: -> Users, and there find the correct name (check theirs desktops if you aren't sure). If there's a domain, than login would be domain\username
Password: the one user types when logging in, and if there's none, create a simple one.

If all the mentioned is entered and configured correctly, and still it doesn't work, check the antivirus suite they might have installed. Some of those have firewalls built in that blocks SMB traffic. I've seen it lately at few of my clients where they've put F-secure (awesome AV and more, btw) server edition which stops all the SMB traffic untill you create rules to allow it.

          Thanks
I turned off Windows 8.1 Firewall for both its private & public network and I did scan to a File Folder and it work good. So it was Windows Firewall.

Now this fire is On again.

But now which firewall apps should be on to allow me scan to a File Folder. Windows 8.1.
          Thanks

Create an exception in the firewall for the port to allow communications. Either Port 139 or 445, whichever one you are using.
              Hope that helps !

I used a new tool/program called FREE PORT SCANNER and it tell that:

Port No. 139 is closed and its name is: NetBIOS-ssn (NetBIOS session service)

Port No. 445 is closed and its name is: microsoft-ds

which one of them is to use here?

Use whichever one you had working. I think 139 is the default SMB port.
                  Hope that helps !

By the way Port 140 not 139 who was used and work when I turn off the windows firewall.
this 140 port only work when this firewall if off.
139 never work also the firewall turned off.

Set it up scanning to email. Then there are no concerns of ports or software to install.
                        Hope that helps !
