This is actually the second time I've addressed this. The first time I used the Restore Disk to resurrect it. Initially it was "Condition 52: Bad file name or number, Error checking D:\MONPATH1\LOGDIR\\StatInfo\KIPUnattend.Dat, Current Routine: tmrUnattendStatus, ErrorPlace 23". This screen gave me a good scare, but never re-occurred after a re-boot.

Today I got a suggestion to change the C:\ drive. I was prepared to jump through the same hoops again, instead I got "Your BIOS is not compatible with this Product Recovery CD." Additionally I could see the blue light on the DVD player shutting off intermittently.
I put the original drive back in, and attempted the Restore, same result. As a last ditch effort I got to the Diagnostics folder and ran Factory Default. It was looking good for a while there. It completed the ghosting of the drive, and the setup procedure, but would not hold the IP, subnet, gateway, and DNS, even after several attempts. The Key Codes did hold this time. Trays #1 and #2 are now recognizing paper, but #3 & #4 still do not. It will print reports and test pages, but will not copy, and since it won't hold an IP it won't print.
Personally I think the IPS main board is toast. That might explain some of these symptoms. Has anybody seen this wonderful Kip quirkyness?
