I am working on this samsung CLX-8380 that has a doc feeder issue, it feeds ok, and the sensors check out, but when it set in auto it wont properly detect size of orig, and if you feed a legal size, it comes out on letter, now if you set the original size to legal, it will come out on legal, but wont make the switch itself, is this just the way they work, or am I missing something, and tech support, what a joke.
Doc feeder woes

Are you saying that, with mixed originals the document feeder does not check the size of every original? It is normal operation for most MFPs to check the size of the first original, then make all the rest the same size, unless the Mixed Original function is turned on. The drawback to a Mixed Original function being turned on, is that it slows down the operation of the document feeder.
I am not familiar with this particular Samsung. Does it have a Mixed Original function? =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yes it does have mixed size setting, but the default setting is auto, and if you run a legal size paper, it comes out letter, like it does not read the size, but if you set the origianal setting to legal it works, cust prob is when duplexing legal, church office BTW, it cuts off part of the print, like it printing letter R on legal.
All cass tray settings are set properly, I just think it has to be set before you run a job on it, and older eyes and hands may not be getting it set right each time.

From what you've said, I'd have to agree. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
