Panasonic DP1820e paper lift problem?

new customer called and said machine is making a clicking noise and says add paper for tray 1 even though paper is in tray. I've only worked on one of these before to replace drum, etc. but hate to turn away new business. Sounds simple like a broken paper lift gear? Is there anything common with this model that would make a clicking noise and not lift paper. Like to have the part with me when I go to call.

Take with you a lot of tape to repair the housing, otherwise replace the lifting assy

Do you have also the error code E2-01? Check the lift cove motor, probably is broken. This damage is very common.
