DP-3030 developer on prints after drum replacement

    Hello there.

This was my first intervention on a Panasonic. Everything seemed straightforward, but after drum replacement and adjustment (F8-14) I got developer on copies and prints. Even after disassembling everything again, it seems that everything is in place.

What could I have done wrong? How can I possibly solve this?

    Cheers!

Well, after looking around, and guessing it could be a charging problem, I tried fiddling with the charge roller values and the problem was solved by changing the charge roller frequency (F6-57) from -20 to 20.

Any comments on why this was (since I, as far as I know, did everything alright when changing the drum) are most welcome.

    Have a nice xmas!

did you check mag roller to doctor blade gap? It should be around .6mm, or about the thickness of a credit card (mines at least...).I found that a lot of those machines are gapped under .6mm, with the results you've seen. If you re-gap, dont forget to do an f8-14 so the black patch on the drum is ok. Also, you have to replace charge roller every 120k.

Changing the charge roller to that high a voltage will eventually end up in severe overtone. What you should have done is keep it at -20 and detone it via sky shots. Usually about 20 - 30 sky shots will make the machine detone nicely. +20 on the charge voltage is no bueno.
        Hope this helps

If you have generic toner in this M/C you must replace the bias roler if this solves the problem (it will be instant) you must then repace the dev and then use only the OEM toner

Thank you all for your replies.

Well, it's been more than 6 months and the customer didn't ask for any more interventions related to that (I've been to that machine but with other types of complaints) so it's all good so far.

            Cheers!

F8-09 should also be run. I would also check the condition of the charge roller behind the drum.
