      Hi

there is a good chance that there is a fault behind the "close paper tray" message, if the spanner is on also, i'll guess you have E04-01

The LBP fuser reset needs done through service mode, if i remember rightly, its F9-04-06

this will allow the machine to reset the error code, thus lifting the paper tray lift motors. (getting rid of the paper tray message)

But i'm guessing and it may be that you arn't an engineer by looking at your post count, so i suggest phoning a local engineer who can help you solve the problem

      Hope that helps

thanks for the reply, but i already have a Panasonic manual for it .
i looked up the error message and the action it says to take is to add paper,
but it already has paper in both the trays.

          The Peanut
sorry if this forum just for engineers ? i appologise.
no i have a Convenience Store the photocopier was supplied by Lanwall Systems
the deal was that i lease/purchase the copier and if my copy sales didn't cover the lease payment Lanwall Systems would reimburse me with the fifference. Never happened I tried to stop my lease payments but Bank of Scotland told me they would take me to court over it. Lanwall Systems have now gone into liquidation owing me a few hundred pounds. I have sent the credit notes to the receivers but not had any payment at all.
So in a nutshell I am now in possession of a photocopier that just won't work and I can't afford to throw any more money at it.

yeh as i said earler if the spanner light's on, you must have an underlying fault, the actual error is masked by the display,

            is the spanner light on?

no the spanner light isn't on its just the paper light that's on.

ok if u r sure the spanner light is off, then it sounds like you need a new paper lift motor

The DP1510 was known for weak paper lift motors,

                Switch the machine off
                open the paper tray
                switch the machine back on
then close tray1, you should here the whining noise from the motor, if among the whining noise you hear a clicking noise, then the outor casing that holds the paper lift motor is bust,

let me know how you go

That is strange, I must be missing somethingThe whining noise is the sound of the Paper lift motor lifting the paper in tray 1, but if it's lifting the tray as soon as you shut it and it only lasts for about 2 seconds with no clicking noise. That means the lift motor is ok but because it does not recodnise the paper, it may mean the sensor actuator arm is broken that tells the machine their is paper in the tray.I've never seen that happen on the DP1510 b4But that's all I can suggest

Hi I agree with The Peanut you need to do a lbp fuser reset. It will not cause any harm! You can also look at the fault & jam history Cannot remember the codes but if you have the manual its in there

                            Regards Gordie
