I thought you all would be interested in this story.
We installed a new MC210 and after a week I got the call for intermittent ADF jams.
The jams were occurring at the rear edge of the slit glass just before the page began to exit the glass.
After playing around with it and consulting with tech support, the ADF was warrantied and they shipped us a new ADF.
Once I had the old one off and the new one next to it, the problem became very obvious.
This was a genuine manufacturing defect.
The hinge posts attach to the ADF by three screws, two to the rear and one next to the platen.
On my problem ADF the platen screws were correct but the other screws to the rear were all non-standard and oversized.
They would not seat properly and the head of the screws were just slightly too high which did not allow the ADF to sit flush to the platen.
I know that if I found one then there are others out there just like it and I just wanted to get this out there.
