    [Dead] Faint Photocopies (Ricoh Aficio MP 3352 SP)

    how are you doing guys?

    i am working on Ricoh Aficio MP 3352SP copier, and this is what it does;

    copying = Faint
    Printing = good quality

    Since the printing is okay, i don't think that it is a developing or drum unit.
    i have tried to change copying modes but it is only the "pale" at a maximum density can give me a fair quality copy

    what could be the problem?
    please help.

    Yes it is the drum/developer had this many times
    you will probably get away with just replacing the drum then running set up
    but it is worth replacing the developer aswell
    what is the meter count if it is any where near the life time you need to replace them
    my advise is also to use only original parts

      on average, how many pages does the original Drum Unit produce before you replace?

        Ricoh recommended is 60K
        on average it seems to be more like 50K

            you can buy a complete unit
            or replace the items
            always replace the drum and cleaning blade at the same time
            attached is the service schedule

                stating the obvious here - when internal prints are fine & copies are poor (light) optics are your issue. Just a cleaning of mirrors & glass, or a possible problem. You can also scan something to verify.

                    You should have started a new thread, replace the PCU and dev.

                      I did, excuse me. I have replaced them both but the same, printing is fine but copies and scans are still really faint.
