Ricoh Aficio 240w Roll Feeder problem

This printer is rarely used and used mostly for scanning. I have owned this machine for about a year. It has i think 4000 pages of use. When i first bought this machine, the paper roll would feed and cut fine and print.

The problem i am having now is the paper won't feed anymore. It will start feeding and then the machine will stop telling me to open the tray because of a misfeed. I have checked the machine numerous times too see if any paper is stuck but there is none.

I tried using a new roll and it will work but when the roll is half used, the problem will occur again.

Do you guy know of any solutions?

Could be a few things. Does the paper feed from the roll at all? Is there any damage or wrinkling to the lead edge of the roll after it jams? It could be the feed clutch on the paper roll, a blockage on or in the paper path or bound up exit roller bushings.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

it only jams when the rolls is used up probably half way. I think its because of the paper roll because it is not straight when it is feeding. Do you think i should order a thicker roll?

Are they using regular paper or velum?
Is this a one roll or two roll drawer?
Last, are the bearings in each roll holder spinning freely?

If you are having trouble with both rolls, check the exit roller shaft and bushings. It's the set located closest to the cutter. I've had some get gummed up and wear out the shaft ends.

If it's just the one roll you're having problems with just one tray try cleaning or replacing the take up clutches on the left side of the drawer. I've also had the drive belt stretch one one requiring replacement.

If you think it's media related, swap the rolls in the drawer and change the drawer settings accordingly.

Re: Ricoh Aficio 240w Roll Feeder problem

Your machine has locking hubs that go into the roll of paper. These will often break on the inside which causes the paper not to track correctly when it is low on the roll. Also make sure when you load the rolls into the machine the suports for the roll paper left and right are in the correct position
