    C3003 v c5503 fuser sleeve

On the old 02 series the same fuser sleeve would fit on all the series, however the 03 series apparently has a different sleeve for the 3003 v 5503 etc, just wondered has anyone tried to fit say the 3003 to a 5503?
Make my life easier to only carry one sleeve for all 03.

    Alright matey,

simply put, the fusing sleeves are different for the two speeds of machine. but the pressure roller, thermistors, blade etc are still the same.

something to do with more lamps in the higher speed machines (i think)

Be sure to check the fuser drive gears whenever you have the fuser out on these 03's, I 've seen a lot of wear on the gears to the point that the fuser stops turning after only 400k,

I guess the connections are differant then so wont phisyically fit!?

Just been to a 3003 today, lines on prints, looks like black & a few colour lines. Machine has done 280k colour & 88k mono. PM counters show all colour drums & dev's are due.

i've ordered a set of drums, didn't know they are so damn expensive!?

The sleeves are different to accommodate the speeds. The 5503 sleeve is going to be a higher wattage sleeve and I think (can't remember training) it has 3 lamps in it. The 3003 sleeve only has 2.

If the machine has a stripper plate on the sleeve, you might want to order one of those!...I have seen them build up toner on the back side, and if not caught soon enough, the caked/baked on toner will eventually "gouge" the sleeve!...DOH!...then you have image defects!...It's unfortunate that Ricoh can't include the stripper plate in with the fuser kits, since it does get wear!

It seems as if the stripper plate should be replaced with about every other fuser rebuild to keep things flowing smoothly!

Went to a 4503 with constant jamming at fuser and the middle idler gear on the PR drive was a pile of dust....just at 300K !!
