Yes as above, BUT the screw and coupling are more delicate than those of the past. I had a client get wise and empty one and the drive coupling failed shortly thereafter resulting in a totally bound up waste toner system.
Ricoh wants these replaced, not emptied. They are supposed to be a customer replaced item now.
If you empty them - empty it fully & reset the counter as I'm informed it can screw the waste section up I.e it overfills the waste, takes out the drums, belt, waste coil. We advise customers don't touch it just order a spare.
i haven't witnessed it yet but I've been told it happens when it's partly emptied to get working.
I empty them but it's definitely more of a pain than the older style. If you don't tape the shutter open you can get waste toner all over yourself in a heartbeat - and trying to vacuum them will kill a filter for me almost immediately.
