I have a SP C242sf and it is constantly requiring me to clean the density sensor. I open it up, slide the little blue arrow, clean it, shut it, it goes away, but then eventually it comes back up. Any reason why it keeps coming up? Is there like a reset code you have to perform on it?

Re: sp c242sf density sensor
If its bad enough I usually pull the pcus, remove the ptr deck, remove fuser, take out the transfer belt unit and clean the od sensors with alcohol on a Qtip, vacum the machine real good, empty the waste bottle etc. I also proper replacement of PM parts when at yield such as the transfer belt/cleaning unit help keep it running cleaner. I really did care for these models much the pcus would not last as long as they should and the fusers would go out often.Comment
