    MPC5502: SC544 M0264371 part

    M0264371

I saw that part number in 1 of the threads talking about SC544 and MPC5502 (might have been a MPC5503 thread I think and someone said they have used M0264371s in the MPC5502)

is that different then what they were calling the D144FUSE? I believe that reset fuse comes with the fuser sleeve now. Quite a big difference in the price for the D144FUSE and this M0264371

    thanks.

Fuser sleeve comes with a fuse. You can actually trick the machine if you don't have one though. Take an old fuse and connect some longer wires to the connector. Plug the fuser in with your new wire coming out of the gap in the door. Go into the fuser reset SC code and join the two wires together, then hit go and disconnect the wires. The machine will think it has popped the fuse and is all good. I made a little box I carry with a switch that does the job perfectly.

I was forced to do this as there was a fault that meant it was popping fuser fuses and going straight back to an error. Didn't want to fork out loads on fuser sleeves (couldn't order just the fuse at the time) so did my little trick until I'd solved the root problem (shorted board).

fuse connector, straight to the switch via enough wire to come out of the machine with the door shut. Box is purely for neatness and to give me something nicer to hold.

That looks very professional, a lot better then my two wires with bare ends. Also 250mA fuses from an electronics suppler aren't cheap

Customers don't like seeing you with a strange wire coming out of the machine with two bare ends. The box/switch setup just makes them think it's some special Ricoh engineer part. [emoji6]

I would have gone with a push button, maybe red.

Sh!t yer ,a BIG RED BUTTON,with flashing lights, warning alarm and a 15 second count down audio voice. "PLEASE CLEAR THE BUILDING , THE SYSTEM WILL SELF DESTRUCT IN 5..,4..,3..,2.., BOOM".

Before you hook the switch up to the machine, slip into the bathroom and stuff a few toilet dunny rolls down the front of your shirt. Guaranteed 99% of your customers will leave you alone to fix the machine after that...

How long do you keep the wires shorted ? How many seconds?

Literally just 1 second after pressing execute, it that fails try 2 seconds any longer & you risk doing damage!

However the fuses are peanuts to buy also they come with a new sleeve so this trick isn't worth the risk.

Thank you for your quick reply, it is not related to the cost , it is about have or not have, in my country it is not easy to find.

Yes SP5810-01 or 02 depending on what code you have.

                              Check the manual if unsure.
